PROGRAM DIRECTOR

As Program Director, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing programs aimed at empowering and supporting young individuals in our community. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including youth participants, volunteers, staff members, and community partners, to ensure the successful delivery and impact of our programs. This position requires a strong passion for youth development, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Responsibilities:

1.    Program Development and Planning:

  • Collaborate with the executive team and relevant stakeholders to develop innovative and impactful programs for youth empowerment, education, and support.

  • Conduct needs assessments and research to identify key areas of focus and programmatic priorities.

  • Design comprehensive program frameworks, including goals, objectives, activities, timelines, and evaluation metrics.

2.    Program Implementation and Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all youth programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise program staff, interns, and volunteers to effectively deliver program activities and services.

  • Develop and implement systems for program evaluation, data collection, and reporting to track progress and measure impact.

  • Monitor program budgets, expenditures, and resources to ensure financial sustainability and compliance with funding requirements.

3.    Youth Engagement and Support:

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for youth participants to learn, grow, and thrive.

  • Establish positive relationships with youth and families, addressing their needs, concerns, and feedback with empathy and respect.

  •  Implement strategies to promote youth leadership, voice, and participation in program decision-making and community initiatives.

4.    Partnership Development and Collaboration:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with schools, community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and reach.

  • Collaborate with external partners to leverage resources, expertise, and networks for program development, funding opportunities, and advocacy efforts.

  • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and events to raise awareness of our mission and engage new partners and supporters.

 5.    Professional Development and Growth:

  • Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and research in the field of youth development, nonprofit management, and social impact.

  • Pursue opportunities for professional growth, training, and networking to enhance skills and expertise in program management, leadership, and community engagement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, education, psychology, nonprofit management, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, youth development, or related field, preferably within a nonprofit or community-based organization.

  • Strong understanding of youth development principles, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive practices.

  • Demonstrated experience in program design, implementation, evaluation, and quality improvement processes.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and build collaborative relationships.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Evenings and some weekend work will be needed in this position.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and online collaboration tools.

PROGRAM COORDINATOR

As the Program Coordinator for I Believe in Me’s youth programs, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and coordination of both programs aimed at empowering and serving young individuals in our community. You will work closely with the Program Managers, volunteers, staff members, and community partners to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of our youth programs. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of youth.


Responsibilities:

1.    Program Support and Administration:

  • Assist the Program Managers in the development and implementation of youth programs, including scheduling, logistics, and resource coordination.

  • Maintain accurate program records, participant databases, and documentation in compliance with organizational and funding requirements.

  • Coordinate program-related communications, including emails, newsletters, and social media updates, to engage participants, volunteers, and stakeholders.

2.    Volunteer and Participant Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support program activities, events, and initiatives.

  • Provide professional customer service as the first point of contact for program participants, families, and community members, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner. Know when to hand off these inquiries to other staff.

  • Facilitate participant registration, orientation, and intake processes, ensuring that all necessary paperwork and permissions are completed and filed appropriately.

  • Coordinate all needed paperwork and permissions for field trips and other activities.

3.    Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of youth-focused events, workshops, and activities, both on-site and off-site.

  • Coordinate event logistics, including venue reservations, catering, equipment setup, and transportation arrangements, to ensure smooth and successful events.

  • Provide on-site support during events, overseeing registration, participant flow, and troubleshooting any logistical or technical issues as they arise.

4.    Program Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of program data and outcomes to track progress, measure impact, and inform continuous improvement efforts.

  • Assist in the development and administration of participant surveys, focus groups, and evaluation tools to gather feedback and assess program effectiveness.

  • Prepare written reports, presentations, and summaries of program activities, achievements, and challenges for internal and external stakeholders.

5.    Collaboration and Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify opportunities for program enhancement, expansion, and sustainability.

  • Cultivate positive relationships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote program awareness, participation, and support.

  • Represent the organization at meetings, events, and conferences to network, share best practices, and explore potential collaborations and funding opportunities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, education, psychology, nonprofit management, or related field (relevant experience may substitute for formal education).

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in program coordination, youth development, or related field, preferably within a nonprofit or community-based organization.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and groups.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and database management software.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional irregular hours as needed for program events and activities.
